BONANZA! In celebration of BONANZA'S 50th anniversary year, Breyer has created a portrait model of one of the beloved horses in the series, Ben Cartwright's Buck.
The patriarch of the Cartwright clan rode Buck, a handsome 15.3 hand horse with classic buckskin coloration - a tan coat with black on the legs, and a black mane and tail. Buck always wore a magnificent, ornate bridle, which complimented his beautiful color. His smooth gait and gentle temperament made his rider look like a natural in the saddle.
After the series ended, Greene, a life long animal enthusiast, bought Buck from his stable but later donated him to a California therapeutic riding centre where he was cherished and lived well into his 30s, a ripe old age befitting a magnificent equine companion.
