Breyer 1486
Small but mighty, the Sheltand is every child's favourite pony. This diminutive Shetland pony, one of Britain's oldest breeds, started out as a working animal. Named for the barren Scottish islands from where he came, this stocky pony is a rugged survivor with a shaggy coat and long mane to protect him from the elements and able to live on very little fodder.
Docile and intelligent, yet incredibly strong for his size, the Shetland stands between about 7 and 11 hands, comes in a range of colours (with black and dark brown being the most common) and sports a short neck, small dished face, wide set eyes and tiny, alert ears.
