The Tennessee Walker is a gaited horse it dosen't trot. The breed's flat foot and running walks are similar to the walks of most breeds in that they are four-beat gaits: each foot lands separately from the others. However the difference is in the length of the stride. In a movement termed overstride, the horse's hind foot should land in or ahead track left by his front foot. At the running walk, the overstride can equal six to 18 inches; the longer the overstride, the better the walker. In this gait, the horse can move at up to 20 miles a hour.

The average Tennessee Walking Horse stands between 14.3 hands and 17 hands and TWHBEA standards recognize any coat color. These horses' gentle temperament has made them popular family mounts.

Introduced on a new mold sculpted by Kathleen Moody and Sommer Prosser, Bluegrass Bandit is owned by Chip, Bonny and Jared Carrier in Franklin, KY and trained by Jared.
