JP Lanz and Company was founded in 1859 at Mannheim, Germany. The firest crude oil powered tractor to carry the Bulldog name was produced in 1921 at the Mannheim Factory. The Bulldog name was derived from the look of the engines that powered the range, Lanz was bought by John Deere in 1965 and the Lanz name, was last used in 1967.
